Boredom Busters magazine is published just before the end of each school term and has a full guide to all the holiday programmes that are organised in Tasman District. It also has cool competitions for the kids with great prizes up for grabs.
The Boredom Busters holiday programmes
The Tasman District Council provides holiday programmes for the general public at various locations throughout the District. Council supports and funds providers who wish to run holiday programmes in local areas.
Council believes children have a right to care, leisure and recreation activities outside of school time, which are fun, safe and culturally appropriate. The aim of Boredom Busters is to increase the participation of children in sport and leisure activities and to provide safe and stimulating programmes.
There are no mandatory legal requirements for programmes to meet, childcare regulations or standards of care. Because there are no licensing requirements or regulations covering OSCAR services it is especially important for you to check that your child is receiving safe, quality care. Ask the programme if they have CYF OSCAR approval.
