Local Governance Statement
 
The purpose of the Governance Statement is to outline information on the responsibilities, structure and governance processes of the Council as required by section 40 of the Local Government Act 2002.

The Governance Statement must be updated within six months of each triennial general election of members of the local authority and whenever the local authority considers it appropriate.

Delegations Register April 2006
 
The delegation register records all delegations from the Tasman District Council to Standing Committees, Subcommittees, Members and Staff. The delegations have been approved by Council resolution CN04/12/03 delegations, unless otherwise stated, are deemed to have been made under Clause 32, Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002 (LGA). Councillors' Code of Conduct
 
This code of conduct has been prepared to provide guidance on the standards of behaviour expected of elected members (the Mayor, Councillors and Community Board Members) of the Tasman District Council. It applies to elected members in their dealings with:
  • each other.
  • council management and staff
  • the public.
  • the news media.
