Local Governance Statement
The purpose of the Governance Statement is to outline information on the responsibilities, structure and governance processes of the Council as required by section 40 of the Local Government Act 2002.
The Governance Statement must be updated within six months of each triennial general election of members of the local authority and whenever the local authority considers it appropriate.

The delegation register records all delegations from the Tasman District Council to Standing Committees, Subcommittees, Members and Staff. Councillors' Code of Conduct
This code of conduct has been prepared to provide guidance on the standards of behaviour expected of elected members (the Mayor, Councillors and Community Board Members) of the Tasman District Council. It applies to elected members in their dealings with:
- each other.
- council management and staff
- the public.
- the news media.
