Estuary Workshop
Tasman District Council is hosting a two-day workshop on estuary restoration.
The aim of the workshop is to provide information to people involved with estuaries as to how to go about restoring an area of estuary, to develop networks for sharing knowledge and to provide direction so groups can better manage estuaries.

The key guest speaker is Dr Trevor Partridge who currently works as a botanist for Christchurch City Council and manages several large estuary restoration projects. Local experts from Department of Conservation, Cawthron and consultancies such as Wriggle Ltd will talk about projects happening locally.

The workshop is being held on 28 and 29 April and will include speakers, open discussions and a field session.

There will be an evening public session on Monday 28 April at 7.30 pm at Tasman District Council Chambers that will include a presentation and discussion. A field trip on Tuesday 29 April will involve getting muddy and participants are encouraged to bring boots and raincoats.

For more information or to register for the workshop contact Tasman District Council Environmental Resource Scientist Trevor James, Ph 543 8562 or email trevor.james@tdc.govt.nz.
