Mapua Waterfront Parklands
Plans drawn up for new park on Mapua waterfront

Concept designs for a park at the Mapua waterfront have been drawn up and the public is invited to view those designs and make comments.
As part of the public consultation on plans for the site of the former Fruitgrowers Chemical Company factory an open day will be this Saturday, 15 November 2008, at the Mapua Fire Station between 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm.

As well as comments and suggestions on the design of the park, the public is invited to suggest names.

All comments and suggestions must be received by 5 December 2008.

Council engaged Robin Simpson Design Ltd to come up with the concepts.
Information sessions on the proposed park design will also be held on:
Tuesday 18 November at the Mapua Fire Station, and Wednesday 19 November in the Mapua Boat Club, both from 7.30pm - 9.00pm.

The plans will also be available for viewing between 16 and 30 November 2008 at the Mapua Community Library, Hamish’s Ice Cream Parlour on the wharf and in the Tasman District Council offices in Richmond and Motueka.

Submission forms will be available at:

• Mapua library
• Tasman District Council and
• Hamish’s Ice Cream Parlour.

Submissions should be returned to Lloyd Kennedy at Tasman District Council, Private Bag 4, Richmond, 7050.
