In the Tasman District there are five Resource Recovery Centres run by Smart Environmental with Fulton Hogan.
These centres accept a variety of recyclable and reusable materials.
These are the same materials collected in the kerbside collection (All numbered plastics (1-7), except polystyrene, tins/cans, newspaper, cardboard, magazines, other paper and glass), firewood, reusable timber lengths (treated and untreated), scrap metal, roofing iron, car batteries, cars (stripped or unstripped), whiteware, tyres, waste oil and green waste. For the Richmond area green waste should be delivered directly to Council's green waste operator Greenwaste to Zero in Cargill Place, off Beach Road.
