What are some of the laws that guide Tasman District Council?
The principal statutes which empower the Council to undertake various functions and activities, or impose responsibilities on the Council, include the Local Government Act, the Resource Management Act, the Harbours Act, the Biosecurity Act, the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act and the Reserves Act. The Council has a number of plans which have been prepared under the statutes and which are available for inspection at Council offices and libraries.
