The Smarthome has arrived in Motueka and will be open for public viewing until the end of June. The Smarthome brings practical ways to save power, water and money at home. It is situated in the carpark next to the Tasman District Council office in Hickmott Place and is free to view.
The Smarthome has been on display around the region since November last year giving people an opportunity to find out what changes they can make to their home – new or old - to make it warmer, dryer and more efficient to live in.
Whether you’re building, renovating, or just wanting to reduce the money you spend on power and water, the Smarthome will have something to offer. Smart insulation, smart building, smart energy and smart water are just some of the topics on display. Heat pumps, double glazing, blinds, recycling, plumbing and paint are all included, as well as ideas on how to reduce the chemicals in your home.
The Tasman District Council - Nelson City Council Smarthome is open from 9am until 4pm Monday-Saturday inclusive.
